Rough terrain forklifts have been produced by CareLift Equipment, ever since the year 1962. Each day the company strives to help all their customers reach their goals and deliver value because they know the bottom line is performance and dependability.
There are 2 general kinds of boom lifts. These units are straight boom lifts and articulated boom lifts. Often, these models are hydraulically powered. Most commonly straight booms are the great alternative for jobs that require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom is able to be vertically raised to below horizontal. As the operator can maneuver and steer the vehicle while the boom is fully extended, it is a versatile equipment. These units are available in propane, gas or diesel configurations as well as 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive.
Articulated boom lifts are used for lifting cargo up and over obstacles and gain access to areas which were otherwise unaccessible. These lift units perform tasks that straight telescopic booms cannot do. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move around any objects easily within the work environment.
Some heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers so as to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is completely extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra confidence and safety. Correct training is necessary prior to using boom lifts so as to guarantee the jobsite, the operator and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for tasks requiring lots of man power to be carried out in much less time. These machinery have changed the material handling business and have really increased productivity.
