Different Classes of Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts are a specialized type of heavy machinery which enables workers to be raised into the air. These machinery could be utilized to perform repairs and maintenance in areas which are high up in the air like on roofs, near street-light fixtures and power lines. Like the majority of tools, there are different models of aerial lifts which could be utilized to complete different jobs. For the utmost safety, each and every kind of different kind of machine needs right training and specific qualifications prior to operation.

Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are often called Genie lifts. They are considered the most basic form of aerial lift. These lifts are made of a platform which is raised up by means of pneumatic power and are mostly utilized indoors. Usually, scissor lifts are the safest type of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts are capable of being driven like large carts. Generally, when the platform is extended, they are not able to be driven for safety reasons. Before anybody can use these tools, workers need to be certified as operators.

Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a much more complicated pieces of aerial lift machine compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift often has a much wider base to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that allows the operator to hoist and lower the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it can move from side to side too. The boom lift looks like a tail of a metal scorpion. Usually, it is used in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run than scissor lifts, thus, operators must be licensed separately for these kinds of lifts.
