Kinds of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to consider with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet areas, while several would use certain guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common kinds in compact retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks could work within aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up units offer padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are made to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is big and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body exhaustion by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
