Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Santa Ana

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also known as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized in order to transport things and supplies around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.

Pallet trucks should be operated carefully to prevent loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Equipment must be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make sure that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be carefully stacked to be able to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

To release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever situated on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be centered to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is truly not safe to push the pallet ahead of you because the momentum could cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Gradually stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
