A type of equipment in the material handling industry which could be utilized to raise and move loads from one place to another is referred to as a forklift. Every forklift component has a particular function. Different parts could be used to move the load vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the components that lower and lift the load. There are various types of masts used for raising loads to various heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
Power Supply
Forklifts have four various ways of being powered: electric, gas, propane and diesel. The battery is situated within the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is underneath the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is positioned within the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated in the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, that are located at the rear to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
