Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an important tool within commercial businesses and industry since 1917. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through different forms, from a simple tractor with an attached platform to a particular high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also evolved into particular tires, with various kinds designed to meet particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is constructed of rubber or solid polyurethane and is best for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are normally utilized within warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Air or foam is used to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They come in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the application, they are offered with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less susceptible to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on surfaces which are uneven and rough.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the puncture resistance of a solid tire with the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire. They are a great alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Big rubber tires, which could either be pneumatic, foam or solid, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These types of tires are suitable for loading and moving bulk things onto trucks or into processing machines. Large flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly utilized at lumberyards, construction sites and auto recyclers.
