Used Caterpillar Big Forklifts Santa Ana

Kinds of Forklifts

Forklifts are used to lift and move loads that are heavy, normally inside warehouses and construction sites. They are usually found in material handling and other manufacturing industries. There are different types of forklifts designed for various kinds of applications.

The main difference between forklifts is the way they are powered. Several are electric powered and several use internal combustion motors. For lifting heavy loads while maintaining minimum operating costs, electric forklifts are usually the best choice. Electric forklifts are normally found in indoor work sites. For outdoor applications, internal combustion forklifts are usually recommended.

Kinds of forklifts are manual drive, fork truck and motorized drive. Fork trucks are motorized and have cabs and backup alarms. Motorized drive forklifts usually have a protected seat for the driver. Manual drive forklifts are manually powered.

Some forklifts are counterbalanced to be able to avoid tipping over. Other safety features comprise turntables or handrails. Specialty forklifts are available for specific uses. Like for instance, narrow aisle forklifts are designed to work in extremely tight spaces. Rough-terrain forklifts are very effective on rocky and uneven surfaces.
